Two stories in the Adver of 15 October illustrate perfectly all that is wrong with SBC.
Firstly yet another consultation has arrived at its predetermined destination with utter predictability. Setting aside the scraps thrown out at the end of the process, Councillor Foley has run true to Tory form and delivered cuts that mainly affect the vulnerable and are wholly unsupported by users of this service.
Coun Foley has adequately demonstrated that she understands the cost of everything and the value of nothing.
Secondly we have the issues of trust and competence. Councillor Robbins is absolutely right to pursue Councillor Perkins over the secret arrangements made concerning the Oasis Leisure Centre.
This has the same smell wafting from it as previous muck emanating from certain quarters of our glorious leadership.
Underperformance, over promised and hidden from public view. When it is our money, (and government and councils have none of their own), there can be no reason for this other than that the man on the proverbial Clapham omnibus might conclude.
