I hope the strident anti-European Union correspondents of your paper will curb their frenzy now that the latest Ipsos Mori poll shows 56 per cent support for continuing EU membership in the UK. David Cameron, Nigel Farage et al are all whistling in the wind if they think that they can either leave, threaten to leave, or influence European policy by having a referendum.
People with genuine concerns about EU policy, whether it is immigration, economics, energy/nuclear power, agriculture, health and safety, employment, to name but a few, should work through the MEPs of the European Parliament to lobby for improvements rather than continuous negative xenophobic ranting in the columns of the Swindon Advertiser.
