I challenged Bill Williams to deny UKIP’s anti-working people policies, and like most ‘kippers’ he can’t give a straight answer.
He claims that UKIP would repeal the working hours directive in order that junior hospital doctors can work 70 hours a week. Imagine someone who has been on duty for 14 hours writing a prescription for you.
In reality, it is so working people can be forced to work Victorian-length working weeks. Nigel Farage has lately announced UKIP will not do away with or privatise the NHS.
A welcome change of policy, unfortunately undermined by their support for the transatlantic trade and investment protocol (TTIP), which would allow American companies to pretty much make a non-privatised NHS illegal. Incidentally, this is supported by our two MPs and the Labour candidates.
He does not, nor can he, deny UKIP policies to repeal unfair dismissal laws, holiday entitlement laws, health and safety laws, and to do away with maternity and paternity leave.
