I have made my decision. There are two parties whose values strike a chord with me: Red and Green.
It has not been an easy decision with my previous ‘red’ election activities and friendships. But this is not personal, this is political.
I am aware of the populist mantra that if you vote Green you get blue.
Our voting system is hugely biased towards the two major parties.
Neither of them looks like changing that to proportional representation any time soon. The Green Party, however, is committed to that change. All political parties started small and grew. The Greens are surging in Swindon. I know I am not the only one who feels that our flawed democracy is unfair to many. It is time for a major change in who represents us locally and in Parliament.
Readers are invited to “be the change you want to see”; to vote with your heads and hearts and be surprised at the result locally and nationally.
Swindon residents are invited to join in with this rapidly-growing, quiet, Green, peaceful, political revolution. I want to be part of the Green Movement towards economic, environmental and social justice.
