In reply to the letter from Miss Ella March, Adver 17 February, may I inform her that her parents are very fortunate to share the chores. I envy them and wish them well.
Due to serious family health problems after fifty two years of marriage, I have to do all the washing, cleaning, housework and cooking in our household, hardly the male chauvinist sloth she appears to visualise me as.
However, unlike her, I still maintain a sense of humour. Does she own a pink van by any chance ?
It would be a greater public service if Swindon’s answer to Harriet Harman got her facts right before writing such nasty drivel. My letters were a light-hearted dig at both sexes and for anyone to take them seriously and write such an abusive piece, quite frankly astounds me. Perhaps as we near her mentioned approaching year 2050, she might eventually regain a sense of humour, but I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one.
