The UK is one of the most unequal countries in the developed world.

The gap between the rich and the rest damages you, your family and the community.

It creates a divided society where we all suffer from higher levels of crime, drug use and mental health problems.

But it does not need to be like this. Together we can work to build a more equal society.

The Equality Trust exists to promote a living wage to public and private sector employees and urge local government to adopt fair play practices so the gap paid between staff is reduced.

Swindon Equality Group are presenting an illustrated talk by Duncan Exley, executive director of the Equality Trust called, ‘Working towards a fairer, stronger economy’, at Gorse Hill Baptist Church, Cricklade Road, SN2 1AA, on Thursday, March 12, from 7-8.30pm.

Refreshments will be available from 6.30pm and entry is free. Do come along to add your voice to the majority asking for fair pay policies.

Further information is available at www.swindonequality.btck.co.uk or www.livingwage.org.uk.
