Walking along The Parade on Saturday morning, I chatted to a supporter/member of UKIP who handed me a 2015 UKIP election leaflet.
The title was ‘What a UKIP government will do’ and in bold letters across the middle was ‘Policies for the people’.
On seeing that I thought there may have been something in the employment and small business section, something regarding an increase in the minimum wage, an end to zero hour contracts, a decent living wage, something that would give hope to the country’s lower paid workforce.
There was plenty of anti-EU stuff as you would expect, but no mention of what UKIP would do to stop the tax evasion or the behaviour of banks which brought the country to its knees just a few years ago.
Mr Farage likes to keep going on about being a man of the people. That is just garbage.
Is John Short, Swindon UKIP chairperson, able to enlighten me on any of the above?
