There have been a number of letters recently in the SA regarding irresponsible dog owners who allow their pets to annoy other people and who do not clear up any mess left by their dogs.
As a responsible dog owner I have to agree with the comments made regarding this matter. I have two dogs and when they are taken out for exercise are always kept on their leads and I do not allow them to go near other people.
I also clear up after them should they do anything while we are out. There is no excuse not to clean up after your dog and cheap nappy sacks can be bought at any pound shop, which are ideal for clearing up.
One of my dogs is of a nervous disposition and does not like other dogs near her. When I have politely asked the owners of dogs off the lead to call them away I have been verbally abused and physically threatened.
It is becoming more and more difficult to know where to take my dogs to avoid these so-called dog owners.
They should have to keep their dogs on a lead when in a public place; some people should not be allowed to own a dog.
