I have no bone to pick with the Webb brothers. However, in reply to their remarks of March 5 about my opinions, with all due respect to Mandy Rice Davies, “Well, they would say that, wouldn’t they?”

Here is an example of the tip of the iceberg. Scotland Yard recently released photos of 16 of Europe’s most wanted criminals on the run in our country. Murder, kidnapping, rape and human trafficking were some of the multiple offences they were wanted for. What was I supposed to call them – boy scouts? If I upset this criminal scum in the midst of our civilised society, so be it. I doubt I offended any law abiding citizens, regardless of their colour or creed.

In reference to the snide remarks regarding UKIP. My views regarding the destruction of my small island, dear to my heart, with its great traditions of taking in genuine refugees by unfettered non-selective mass immigration are shared by many millions of people across the political spectrum, not unique to UKIP supporters.

To insinuate that I have no time for the youth of this country in giving or listening to their opinions is absurd, quite frankly. As the head of a family totalling 16 direct descendants I can assure you they would all beg to differ. Regarding the right to reply, I would not be contributing to these pages regularly if I did not firmly believe in that democratic right.
