VICTORINO Chua (the hospital poisoner) got 25 life sentences and will have to serve 35 years before being considered for parole.
Why parole? Even going on the basis of a life sentence equalling just 15 years, multiplied by 25 this equals 375 years. In this case it means he could get released in 35 years so only 2.1 of the sentences for the crimes he committed will be completed.
When will these antiquated laws be changed to mean what they say instead of the judge saying to the guilty you will receive 25 life sentences but no worries, do about 35 years and we may let you out?
America’s system states that if you get multiple life sentences that’s just what they mean — you will go to prison for anything up to 999 years, so in other words bye bye, you did the crime, now do the time.
