IN HIS letter of June 13, ‘Manufacturing is key’, Stephen Halden said it is Jeff Adams’ left-wing views that lead him to believe that wealth will only be created if the Government would spend more money.
While Jeff Adams may hold some left-wing views, he also holds some repugnant views which would be most welcomed by right-wing political groups and organisations.
Steve Halden also says that while public spending is admirable (I would say public spending is essential), it does not create wealth.
Rubbish, Mr Halden. The wealth around the world is created by the workers, be it in the public or private sector.
Regarding the Government giving money to food banks, some councils may give grants to food banks but the Government does not.
Most food banks are run by charities and rely on donations, hence the reason the Co-op, in Old Town, and Morrisons, in Regent Circus, have food collection boxes in their stores.
