DES Morgan’s comments last Friday on the GWH, prompt me to add a couple of points which I am sure he would have made had he been in possession of the latest news from the Foundation Trust.

1. 2014/15 ended with an £8.6m deficit and this figure would be £18.7m by the end of March 2016.

2. The good news is they have a “recovery” plan in place to balance the books by the end of the year and “save”£12m, and furthermore develop a long term saving plan to save the trust £60m over the next five years The reason for the deficit was because they were forced to spend £11.2m last year on agency staff due to the national shortage of nurses.

This was backed up with the figures put out by NHS England reported to be up by 60 per cent to £1.4bn since 2010 because of the Conservatives having cut training places for nurses.

The good news on that front was David Cameron’s 24 hour NHS, promises more pressure on staffing and more business for temporary agency staff in the private sector equity firm TowerBrook.

Its owners made a very generous £750,000 donation to the Tory Party this year for helping increase their turn-over by 550 per cent to £214m over the past four years.

And as for the other point Des made about the £12bn on Foreign Aid, it might interest your readers that a quarter of this money is allocated to city banking firms to administer this loot and once again they have thanked David Cameron for this work by also donating generously to the Tory and Labour political funds.

So now we know just where our tax payers’ money is wisely spent.
