WHY on earth are we ‘celebrating’ Wellington and the battle of Waterloo which took place 200 years ago?
Do we all have to appear at war memorials and weep crocodile tears for our (some of us) great-great grandfathers who we never knew?
What next? Back to the 17th century English Civil War, then Bosworth? More tears.
The deeper the coming austerity cuts, the further back we’ll go in history, with the Government telling us what a great nation we are, especially with growing food banks.
