Only station was closed
YOUR article on page 13 of last Friday’s paper gives the impression that the railway junction at Royal Wootton Bassett was removed and services between Swindon and Chippenham withdrawn. This is not the case.
The junction is indeed still there and clearly apparent at the two Skew Bridges where the line divides either for Bristol Parkway and South Wales, or for Chippenham, Bath and Bristol Temple Meads. The only thing that was closed was the station at Royal Wootton Bassett.
