WE’RE used to Swindon North MP Justin Tomlinson talking claptrap, but his most recent column of July 10 he managed to exceed himself by talking more claptrap than usual.

Only Tories and those who have no compassion would agree with him that the Budget was a good one.

Within hours of it, The Institute of Fiscal Studies said the majority of working people claiming in-work benefits could lose up to £1,000 a year and with tax and benefit changes it is estimated that 13 million families will find themselves worse off over the next few years.

Mr Tomlinson agrees with George Osborne that Britain deserves a pay rise – unless, of course, you work in the public sector, where pay increases have been capped at one per cent for the next four years.

Mr Tomlinson, along with Osborne, Cameron and the rest of the Tories, like to claim they are for working people but as we all know they are a party for the rich and elite.

Good Budget Mr Tomlinson? It was a cruel and vicious Budget from a cruel and vicious Government whose attacks on working people, the disabled and welfare claimants know no bounds.

As long as the Tories get the deficit down they don’t give a damn about the consequences that their policies bring to ordinary people.
