CONGRATULATIONS to Open Door for their inspired and inspiring idea to invite local choirs to help celebrate 30 years of their work with adults with learning difficulties. Seventeen choirs braved the showers to perform in the Town Gardens Bowl. The programme started at 2.15pm and finished around 9pm. Some hardy music lovers stayed throughout and heard a great selection of choral music. Be good to hear that lots of funds were raised too.
The number of performers would have filled the Wyvern auditorium with no room for audience. The Oasis would have been too expensive to hire. The Bowl was ideal. We hope this Swindon Choir Festival is the first of many hosted by Open Door, their own choir and supporters. Is there a date for the next one?
