I READ Brian Mattock’s Thursday column with interest as I am looking for something noisy to listen to on Sunday afternoon, and the Wroughton Silver Band should be just the ticket.
A pleasant cycle to the Old Town Gardens, possibly dropping into the Richard Jefferies’ museum on the way, sit down on the grass while someone else does the work for a change.
What could be nicer?
One thing Mr Mattock didn’t have space to mention (but the next concert isn’t until November and is even noisier than a silver band!) is Swindon’s very own Symphony Orchestra www.swindonorchestra.org.uk. Book early for the next all-English performance (on a Sunday evening) as both the audience and orchestra are growing and we might be looking for a larger venue before long.
Roll on Swindon’s own Symphony Hall!
