RE ‘Priorities in wrong order’ SA 18 September from Bill Williams. He mentions an ex soldier who served in Afghanistan and is now suffering from PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and with no hope of obtaining a council property, even though he has a young child.
This tells me two things: 1) The Queen and her governments attend hypocritical memorial services annually to honour our ‘glorious dead,’ but come the living ex soldiers in need of obvious help, (and Bill Williams is one of many) they are on their own.
If the Queen were a proper head of state she would rectify this injustice.
2). Contrast this with the annual £84 m bill, courtesy of us taxpayers, for sending the children of senior Army officers to expensive private schools.
A throwback to colonial times it seems.
And some still maintain we no longer have a class system!
