I READ with interest the piece on pets at home being lonely after the school holidays. Me and my adorable wife have had two weeks together on holiday in Spain; that’s 24/7, fourteen days straight in each other’s company, morning noon and night.
Since our return, the wife seems to be in a better mood after the holiday than she was before and seems to be skipping down the footpath sometimes humming a happy tune on her way to work.
Now I don’t think I’m being a bit paranoid but it seems to me she is actually glad to be back at work away from yours truly, back to some sort of normality.
Don’t get me wrong; she says she loves my company but after 24/7 well, I think she’s glad of some peace and quiet not having to listen to me prattling on and not having to walk for miles.
I really do think the pets at home will feel the same; glad of some peace and quiet, use the dog or cat flap, do what they want, have a kip and so on.
Workshops for lonely pets – I think that’s going a bit too far.
