REGARDING the proposed development of the Eastcott Road Stagecoach Bus Depot, this development is a good idea.
However, I am very concerned that these proposed flats are to be luxury flats.
Please bear in mind not all older people who need help with accommodation are well heeled. Some are struggling to live on their incomes and it is these who need your support.
As a quantity surveyor with more than 48 years in the construction industry before I retired, I fully appreciate that the proposed development must be viable, but these flats must not be out of the reach of the most deserving.
As a member of Institute of Cost And Production Surveyors I have had to work on many “tight” schemes and have with good planning and a good workforce, managed to achieve a successful result.
I am certain you have personnel who can also achieve the same results.
