IN A LETTER to the leader of Oxford County Council, David Cameron expressed dismay at cuts to Oxfordshire’s frontline services, describing reductions in funding to children’s centres as “unwelcome and counter-productive.”
He will be very disappointed to hear therefore that Swindon Borough Council has also made massive cuts to children’s centres recently, citing reducing funding from Central Government as the reason for the “difficult” decisions they’ve had to make.
I would be very interested to find out whether the council will be reconsidering their spending plans in the light of Mr Cameron’s letter.
Or will they be disagreeing with him and standing by their decisions.
