I FOUND it hard to hold back tears in my eyes on Friday night as the news broke about the carnage in Paris.

All of the country surely shared my feelings of shock and horror.

I am sure all the Adver readers will join me in offering our condolences and sympathy to the fallen and the grief-stricken that are left behind.

There is only one conclusion any government can come to now, as a government’s principal role is to protect its citizens.

It is now clear one of the terrorists involved in the French massacre of innocent civilians was a Syrian refugee entering Europe through Greece.

Stand firm and close all borders forthwith, no ifs or buts from the liberal elite chattering classes.

The insanity of free movement without proper checks is the main cause of turmoil across Europe.

Make no mistake about it, there is more to come if free movement continues.

There is no denying the fact now the defence of the realm is being threatened.

Human lives are more important than the hand-wringing platitudes of the ‘welcome all’ brigade.

The gloves must come off now with the soft soap attitude to poppy burners and anarchists.

As the French President clearly stated we are at war now.

I hope you are listening Mr Cameron.

Your failure to take immediate definitive action will be counted in body bags on our streets if you do not.
