I READ with great surprise Marion Sauvebois’ review of Bottelino’s Restaurant. Maybe she went to a different restaurant to the one we have been visiting for some time with no problems.
For a start it is only a few yards from the car park, not a ‘few hundred’. Which car park did she use for heaven’s sake? Maybe your reviewer booked a busy time, but in this day and age surely she could have phoned ahead to say she would be a few minutes late to secure her table.
As for the décor, Bottelino’s certainly does not remind me of an 80s canteen hall. Has she ever been to one? It is light, bright, spacious, airy and very clean.
Regarding the food, we have never had any problems, neither have we heard anyone else complain. This restaurant is the friendliest, most helpful we have been to.
Our final recommendation is that last year my family, 12 in all, celebrated my husband’s 80th birthday one Saturday evening. A wonderful time was had by all and the food was excellent. And we all managed to arrive on time!
