Experience counts

I AM one of the “oldies” who, according to the young generation, have ruined their future. Not partaking in social media, I have not seen the dreadful response from that group regarding our generation but have been informed that it is disgusting in content.

I am amazed that these, such knowledgeable young people, did not bother to vote in the referendum.

If they had, we “oldies” would have been put in our place as they would have easily stayed put in Europe.

It appears that the days of respecting the older generation have vanished.

One certainly does not have to agree with our thoughts, ideas, love of GB etc. We have lived long enough to have been entitled to our views without receiving verbal abuse!

I do not know of one of the older generation who has not put the welfare of their younger families first.

We truly want GB given back to them. They are strong enough to build our country back to become what it once was.

But I really must now say how great my husband and I are always treated by the “youngsters” when out and about, be it in shops, garden centres, restaurants etc.

Both of us remark how kind and respectful they are towards “you guys” as they address us.

It truly makes our day to be kindly treated, so, to the many of you who show respect, many thanks.

Where the other half came from, who hate us so much, is an enigma. Thank goodness we have not come across them.

Whichever way the future political uproar goes you young people must realise we “oldies” voted in the best interest of your future. We have learnt by years of experience, we care about your future, we love GB. Kindly give us credence.

Honour democratic vote

I CANNOT believe that certain MPs are not democratic.

A vote has been taken and there are self-interested, undemocratic MPs who are not supporting the democratic vote results.

Why? Not all of Scotland voted to remain.

Not all of Northern Ireland voted to remain.

Not all of Wales voted to leave.

Not all of England voted to leave.

And not all of the United Kingdom voted.

This was a democratic vote for all, not as displayed, who’s next?

Question of war

NOW that we have decided to leave the European Union, Bill Williams claims that “our ancestors who fought in two world wars did not die in vain.”

Has it occurred to him that, had something like the European Union been in existence, there might have been no world wars?
