Real fascists revealed

WITH reference to Mr Perry’s letter “Unsavoury bedfellows” I think he would agree that the groups he mentioned have few members in relation to the adult population of this nation.

However, the main proponents of the Remain campaign have large memberships.

The Labour party, which was headed by the “Great Remainer” Tony Blair, are responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent Iraqis, and the misery of millions more.

Remember, Tony Blair has said if he could roll back history he would do it again. Similarly, David Cameron and his followers are partly responsible for the deaths and misery of the people of Libya, and also caused an immigration crisis for Europe.

It may take many generations for Libya to become a viable nation. He was also urging Parliament to cause further devastation in Syria.

The Lib-Dems are no war-mongers but their politicians have disproportionately numbered some very questionable characters. Only in recent weeks has another had allegations made against him. Perhaps the peak of their collective wisdom was their belief that we should join the euro or risk oblivion. They continue with this belief even after the experience of the 2008 crash. It appears that many Europhiles have little concern for the ordinary people of the Mediterranean.

As long as the “project” is not derailed they do not care how many Greek people end their lives, give away their children or are unable to afford lifesaving medicines. Therefore, if the choice of ally is someone who supports the BNP, supporters of nigh-on genocidal behaviour, supporters of a Lib-Dem party that exists in a different dimension, or uncaring Europhiles – I’ll take the former.

In performing some elementary arithmetic – taking away the votes of all the unsavoury characters from both sides – I think the Leave group won by an even bigger margin!

Probably many Remainers were liberals. I have always thought that the liberal element in our society do not believe in democracy or countenance any dissent from their creed.

Since the referendum I think I have been proven correct. The real fascists are not the so-called far right (a liberal definition of anyone who isn’t a liberal) but liberals.

Egg on their faces

I LEARNED a long time ago to be decisive. Sometimes I made the wrong decisions. But in such an historic and turbulent political climate, as the legendary economist Alex Brummer states, we must move fast.

No politician who sat on the fence or was involved in the Brexit fear game should be allowed within ten thousand miles of the Brexit leave negotiations.

The Carry on Canadian comedian at the Bank of England should be sent back to the Rockies with his P45 on the first flight from Heathrow for playing the Brexit fear game that affected the financial markets. Was that in our countries best financial interests? David Cameron should have invoked Article 50 instead of giving a resignation speech. But in typical Eton posh boy petulance he once again put his own interests before our national interests, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt his true character is that of the snake oil salesman.

Regarding the inciter to sedition Sturgeon in Scotland, let me speak as a Scotsman by birth, but a British subject, proud on both counts. Very proud of the fact that the wife and I, are two of the 11 million in Britain descended from Somme troops.

If wee Bolshevik Birnie thinks the Scots will listen to her claptrap to stay in the Disunion and vote to leave the UK she is thicker than I thought.

She is another one with self interests of grandeur, instead of the UK’s national interests.

The free-for-some cash dispenser is departing, namely Britain. Our contributions to the gravy train were 15 per cent .Twenty eight countries into 100 per cent is 3.57 per cent . Does that sound advantageous to our national wealth? Will she expect the same financial support she gets from Juncker and gang of accomplices that the UK gives Scotland?

As a Scot I know their mindset. Trust me, the Scots are no fools. They see the devastation of a small country on its own like Greece as one example.

They will play the bluff game until the last minute. Then the reality check comes in on the end game. If she tries for a referendum on both of these issues at the polls she will suffer a worse fate than Chameleon Cameron.

Finally, as Cameron had his last breakfast with his Brussels buddies did any of you notice, they all had egg on their faces?

Absolutely Pan-tastic

FANTASTIC! Well what can I say? I WATCHED the two last amazing shows of Peter Pan performed by the Estelle School Of Dance and a number of the Immanuel Dramatic Society.

What wonderful colourful costumes and stunning sets and scenery and, of course, the fabulous flying which added that extra magic. The darling Mrs Darling that is Pat Bennet (the principal) and Mr Darling – Norman Goodall, who was very funny – and the lovable Nana played by Emmie Raine, a magical Michael played with such confidence and so naturally by Katie Loveridge, the Jovial John played with great character by Louise and most wonderful, sweet-natured Wendy played beautifully by Megan Burchell.

Tinkerbell was portrayed quite brilliantly by Alex Bamford, she made the part her own with beautiful dancing.

The Lost Boys were cheeky and mischievous and each had their individual character.

Stuart Benjamin as Captain Hook was awesome as ever. Smee and Starkey, played by Alex Barrett and Steve Summers and Dean Tilling as Chico gave great great performances. And Steve Keogh as the chief was very humorous, as was Bernadette Barrett who played Tigerlilly with such innocence.

All the cast was fantastic, as were all the dancers, everyone was brilliant, especially the very beautiful Star and Dawn ballet and also the very cute little Tinkerbells who stole the show.

Of course, I have to mention Abigail Daniels, whose superb portrayal of Peter Pan was stunning she performed with such confidence and poise.

Her performance was polished and professional and she owned the stage with her acting, dancing and singing.

I don’t think there was a dry eye in the audience or cast for the last song Don’t Say Goodbye.

Well done Abigail and all the cast and dancers of this wonderful production, not forgetting the fantastic band and musical director Jen Bamford who bought the show to life – you are all amazing and it was all in aid of Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. You all should be very proud.

If you missed it you missed something very very special.

Good deeds are key

TODAY Muslims celebrate the end of fasting.

The celebration is a continuation of its message, which should develop in us empathy for the less fortunate.

Before Eid, payment of fitrana is mandatory. It represents a personal donation to ensure that, at least on the day of Eid, no one is hungry.

In earlier times, the donation was a handful of some staple food for each member of the household.

Now Muslims either give to charity or buy food for food banks. There is a misconception that poverty has been eliminated from our country. Nothing is further from the truth. I urge all Muslims to donate generously to food banks.

Islam does not just leave it at that. It requires that at this time, every Muslim pay zakat – donate 2.5 per cent of the value of their assets for the poor.

Zakat is meant to be collected and distributed by the state. If all Muslims paid zakat and it was used to meet its objective, poverty would soon disappear from our planet.

This is not just my interpretation but clearly stated in the Holy Quran, chapter 107.

This says that those who do not feed the poor and are not kind to orphans do not understand the object of religion.

It then goes on to say that Allah feels sorry for those who pray a great deal but do not do good deeds. I urge all Muslims to keep this message uppermost in their minds at all times.

Kookaburra shame

I WAS somewhat dismayed to see that the photograph of the kookaburra pictured in the Wednesday’s issue was tethered.

Surely the Swindon Advertiser has more integrity than to publish an image of a trapped wild bird!

Poor editing decision, if you don’t have good content to publish then don’t publish at all.

New gallery great

I ENJOYED reading the article by Barrie Hudson on the work of Swindon artist Ken White.

I always have admired his paintings, I can remember him well from my days at Pinehurst and Moredon schools.

Only recently I met Ken Bint, who taught art at Pinehurst school and did much to encourage and point Ken in the right direction.

I’m pleased to read that in the future Swindon will have a new art gallery where the public can go and admire this very talented work that Ken has produced.
