MARK Groves claims to be a first class builder with hundreds of happy customers (Cowboy Builders, Channel 5 Feb 12). It is unfortunate that his reputation is tarnished by the havoc wrecked at some properties by his Kingswood Group, one of 19 alleged debt-ridden companies which he has had wound up or struck off over the years (SA, Mel turns spotlight on the cowboys P5 Feb 13).

It is equally unfortunate that Mr Groves lacked the courage to have a chat with that nice Dominic Littlewood, choosing instead to hide indoors. With the above in mind, what contribution did Mr Groves make when he courted publicity with Swindon Town Football Club?

The series has highlighted the depth of misery, destruction and debt created by dangerous and criminal builders. I fear that Melinda and Dominic scratched the surface of the problem and thousands of other people would welcome their help. At least Melinda’s builder, John Russell will be employed for life, because he really does a first class job.
