YOU reported (SA, February 4, page 9) - taking up most of a page to do so - that “Authorities detain suspected illegal immigrants.”

How paralysingly uninteresting.

At least the newspaper is reporting on a totally xenophobic and racist mindset that many United Kingdom Government agencies have got themselves in to.

Instead of focusing on worries about ‘foreigners’ and the like, you, and the UK Government, would be better concentrating coverage on those who have in actual fact damaged the very economy of this country, including Swindon.

By which I mean some grossly overpaid bankers, financiers and their apologists. For example, the Conservative Party and its greedy hangers-on see nothing wrong with a ‘grab as much as I can’ mentality that has ultimately led to widespread recession.

They are the Enemy Within. They are the danger to Swindon and the UK. They are the ones that the Government should look to deport, or at the very least jail.

I look forward to stories with headlines that these people have been arrested for crimes against us all. Not about arrests of local people who are merely trying to live and get by.
