I LIVE in Wootton Bassett High Street. I have attended most of the repatriations that have taken place through our town. I had my reservations about today's Motor Bike thing. Political stuff etc. I am not interested, as I believe most of Wootton Bassett people, who attend the repatriations, think on the same lines as I do. We stand out to respect the brave young people who give their lives for their country.
Today, the turnout for the Motor Cyclists Parade was enormous; I have never ever seen so many people in the High Street.
Each of the Bikers involved actually paid money to go on the ride which was donated to the 'Heroes' charity and the support for the ride shown by the locals community was fantastic.
The ride took place from 11am through to the late afternoon and was admirably supported by the local community and the police with a friendly atmosphere throughout.
I would like to say that I'm proud to be part of a community that has supported our troops in the way that it has, and supported the efforts of these Bikers in their demonstration of support that they have shown today.
Bikers - Thank You - You deserve every round of applause you were given when you rode through our town.
