letter from T Cleverly

MY letter is regarding our currency. I am dismayed at the changes taking place with coins and notes. I am sure it must baffle some old folks who try to identify one from the other.

It was a good move to change from imperial to metric but this constant change is a bit too far.

As I see it all coins should have the Queens head one side and Britannia the other side.

There are too many salutations going out to various people of the past and landmarks etc., and then there is the question of the cost which I believe could be quite considerable considering the number of trades involved, drawings, die making etc.

I wonder if the Bank of England together with the government department concerned could make it known to the public just how much this whole operation will cost.

This is a time or recession a time when they tell us to tighten our belts, perhaps someone who is part of this nonsense could make it known just how much it is costing.

I await in anticipation for some logical explanation.
