I thank Paul Jenkins of Thamesdown Transport for his reply to my letter of December 24: Dodgy Drivers. Here is a man who understands customer care.
Can the use of noisy – I stress ‘noisy’ – electronic gadgets be banned by the buses, or at least be clamped down on by drivers? One ignorant person can ruin everyone’s journey, be it short or lengthy.
Users often exhibit intimidating or challenging behaviour, if you wish to be politically correct. Noisy users, in my opinion, are usually deaf, dumb, delinquent, antisocial or totally thoughtless, usually all of these.
Often they are the people with the dreadful habit of putting their dirty feet on the seats.
Noisy gadget users remind me of the smoking debacle, but in this scenario it is pollution for the ears.
