Reference your article (Adver, February 3) about an appeal for blankets for homeless people; I was shocked to learn that a vulnerable wheelchair-bound man was sleeping rough and needed an ambulance to take him to GWH.
How does someone in a wheelchair manage to “sleep” and what was he doing on the streets anyway?
I feel extremely saddened that something like this can happen, in what is supposed to be a welfare state.
It’s completely unacceptable that anyone should have to sleep rough, but someone, somewhere needs to make sure that no disabled person ever does.
