SAUNDERS Gordon Arthur Of Cardiff, formerly of Swindon Passed away suddenly but peacefully at home on 10th February 2019, aged 70 years. Devoted husband of Liz and cherished father of Debbie and Kate. Gordon was a kind, gentle and caring man and will remain forever in our hearts and thoughts. Resting at Coles Funeral Directors until the service to be held on Thursday 21st February 2019 at Thornhill Crematorium (Briwnant Chapel) at 4.30pm. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of floral tributes may be sent to OCD-UK, Harvest Barn, Chevin Green Farm, Chevin Road, Belper, Derbyshire, DE56 2UN in memory of Gordon. A donation collection will be provided at the service. I am so sorry to hear of Gordon's passing. I and few "girls at the time" who first met Gordon in August 1960 at Commonweal Grammar School (in Class 1L)have fond memories of a friendly, sociable chap (bear in mind we all came from various, very different parts of Swindon and its surrounding villages). It was all very strange for us. I had the honour of Gordon sneaking me a note in December 1960 asking me to accompany him to the First Year Soirée. The note was intercepted by the Form Teacher who complimented Gordon on his spelling - other such missiles had spelt it as "swari" and those pupils were redirected to French lessons!
