ELECTRICAL VEHICLE CHARGING POINTS IN RESIDENT PARKING ZONES EXPERIMENTAL SCHEME

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 14 July 2021 Swindon Borough Council made an Experimental Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to amend the Swindon Borough Council (Waiting and Loading Restrictions and Parking Places Consolidation) Order 2021. This order is to be operative from the 1 August 2021 2021 for the duration of 18 months. Introduction of Electrical Vehicle Charging Points in Residents Parking Zones. Bays for use by residents permit holders only (specific to each zone), 8am to 10pm for a maximum time of 3 hours no return within 2 hours, for the purpose of charging an electric vehicle at the following locations: Ford Street in Zone K Broad Street in Zone J Westmorland Road in Zone H

Dixon Street, Ashford Road and Maidstone Road in Zone D William Street in Zone F Milton Road in Zone C

The Experimental Order is introduced to allow the Council to implement the restrictions with immediate effect. Any person wishing to make representations whether to object to or support the Order before it is made permanent must do so by completing the consultation form which can be found at

www.swindon.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders

under 'experimental traffic regulation orders' reference (ST&I/TRO/EVCP) by no later than 31 January 2022. Any objection or representation received will form part of a public record which may be made publicly available. If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 14 July 2021 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
