SECTION 14 - THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTPATH CLOSURES
Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make the following temporary orders:
1. (STR0002BG) Hampton Lane, Sevenhampton. This Order is being introduced to allow a new water connection and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Hampton Lane near Somerset House. Traffic will be diverted via B4019 Cricklade Road. The Order will come into force on the

24 January 2022 for 6 months but it is expected works will take place between 24 to 28 January 2022.
2. (STR000273) Queens Drive, Swindon. This Order is being introduced to allow implementation of a pedestrian crossing and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on the A4259 Queens Drive between Windsor Road and Whitbourne Avenue. Traffic to be diverted via A4312 Drakes Way, Oxford Road, White Hart Junction, A419, A4259 Marlborough Road and Queens Drive. The works may be subject to suspension

of the bus lane on Queens Drive between Whitbourne Drive and New College Drive (eastbound) which will be notified in advance if required. The Order will come into force on the 10 January 2022 for 6 months but it is expect the works will take place between 10 January and 31 March 2022. The closure will be in place overnight or evening hours only as/when required.
3. (STR000275) The Avenue, Stanton Fitzwarren. This Order is being introduced to allow Thames Water to install a new water connection and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on The Avenue outside No. 22. Traffic will be diverted via B4019 Cricklade Road and A361 Swindon Road. The Order will come into force on the 17 January 2022 for 6 months but it is expected works will take place between 17 to

21 January 2022.
4. (STR000294) Fpath IB Blunsdon. This Order is being introduced to allow for sewer connection works and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding on PROW footpath 16 Blunsdon to Chapel Hill Lane adjacent to the Chapel, Blunsdon Hill. Pedestrians will be diverted via a signed temporary route when it is available. The Order will come into the force on the 4 January 2022 for 6 months.

5. (STR000299) Railway Village. This Order is being introduced to allow contractors to carry out highway maintenance work and will prohibit vehicles and pedestrians from proceeding on Oxford Street and Reading Street between Emlyn Square and East Street and the back alleyway between Emlyn Square and East Street. Vehicles will

be restricted from parking as indicated by traffic signs. Traffic will be diverted via Emlyn Square, Bristol Street andEast Street. The Order will come into force on the 10 January 2022 for 6 months but it is expected works will take place on between 10 January to 31 March 2022.
6. (STR000179) F'path 2 Highworth. This Order is being introduced to allow installation of a new trunk water main and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along footpath 2 Highworth between Pentylands Lane and junction with Public Footpath 3. No suitable alternative can be provided on the grounds of health and safety.

The Order came into force on the 21 June 2021 for 6 months until the 21 December 2021 but to allow for completion of works, the Secretary of State for Transport has authorized the Order to be extended for a further 6 months until the 21 June 2022.
7. (STR000181) Fpath 1 Highworth and 3 Hannington. This Order is being introduced to allow installation of a new trunk water main and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along footpath 1 Highworth and footpath 3 Hannington between Pentylands Lane, Highworth and Public Bridleway 4 Hannington. Pedestrians will be diverted from the eastern end of the closure is northwards and then westwards and then northwestwards along Pentylands Lane to Public Bridleway 12 Hannington. Then northwestwards along Public Bridleway 12 to the junction with Public Footpath 3 and then southwestwards along Public Footpath 3 to the western end of the closure. The Order came into force on the 21 June 2021 for 6 months but to allow for completion of works, the Secretary of State, has given authorization for the Order to be extended for

a further 6 months until the 21 June 2022.
8. (STR000183) Fpath 18 Highworth and Fpath 19 Hannington. This Order is being introduced to allow installation of a new water main trunk from Highworth to Blunsdon and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along footpath 18 Highworth and 19 Hannington from Bydemiil Farm Lane to Hampton Lane (unclassified 3019) Hampton. Due to health and safety reasons no suitable alternative route can be provided. The Order came into force on the 21 June 2021 for 6 months but to allow for completion of works, the Secretary of State for Transport, has given authorization for the Order to be extended until the 21 June 2022.
