(WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS AND PARKING PLACES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2014) EXPERIMENTAL ORDERS (NO.1 and 2) 2017
NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Council made Experimental Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to be operative from the 2 June 2017 for the duration of 18 months.
The effect of the Orders are to impose variations to the waiting restrictions in Zones H and G including introducing 'dual use' bays for limited waiting and residents parking for Zone H&G Parking Permit holders. The Orders revoke the 5 minutes limited waiting from the Residents Parking Bays in Zone H&G. The Orders also introduce 'School Keep Clear' markings on Plymouth Street and Durham Street where stopping will be prohibited (Mon -Fri 8am to 5pm.
The above variations will be indicated by signs and lines on the following streets in Zone H and G:
Groundwell Rd, Durham St, Lincoln St, Belgrave St, Dumbarton Ter, Hunt St, Bellevue Rd, Little London, Albert St, Union Row, Church Rd, Service Rd rear of 1416 Victoria Rd, Beckhampton St, Euclid St, Newcastle St, York Rd, Portsmouth St, Plymouth St, Northampton St, Southampton St, Westmorland Rd, Leicester St, Lincoln St and Wells St.
Copies of the Orders and plan showing the extent of each restriction on each of the above streets may be inspected at the One Stop Shop, Wat Tyler House, Euclid Street, Swindon during normal office hours or online on www.swindon.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders.
The Experimental Orders have been made to allow for an assessment of the changes before a decision is taken to make them permanent.
Any person wishing to make representations whether to object or support the Orders before they are made permanent must do so in writing quoting the reference (TRO/ Experimental/Zone H&G) specifying the grounds on which they are made within 6 months of the Experimental Orders coming into force or if the Orders are subsequently varied or modified within 6 months of the variation or modification coming into force.
If you wish to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, you may, within 6 weeks from 24 May 2017 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
