A carer from Warminster who came up with a flexible clip that provides instant medical details for elderly people with memory loss is delighted with the reaction she has had since launching the new invention.

Adeline Dalley, who was previously a senior carer at Westbury Court Care Home, created Mediclipz after becoming frustrated with the untidy sticky labels usually used to identify mobility aids.

The clips, which are patent pending, provide vital information for emergency services, hospitals or care homes and are supplied with a waterproof label in either yellow or white.

The 32-year-old, who recently started a new job at Rossetti House Care Home in Frome, will now see the clips distributed throughout Gracewell Healthcare’s eight care homes.

Mrs Dalley, who lives with her husband and three daughters in Warminster, said: “I showed the clips to the managing director of Gracewell Healthcare, who own Rossetti House, and he really loved it.

“I have had a lot of positive feedback about the clips and Gracewell is going to put them into all its care homes, which is great.

“We are now looking at getting the message out to other care homes.”

The clips cost £9 each, with £1 from each purchase going to Alzheimer’s Support in Trowbridge. Anyone interested in finding out more about Mediclipz should visit www.adzcreations.com
