A FIRE in a recycling bin near a Trowbridge school is being considered as arson by Wiltshire Police which is now appealing for witnesses.
At 1.20am on Thursday (April 13) morning, officers were on patrol in the Longfield Estate when they discovered a recycling bin fire at Oasis Academy, adjacent to Cloth Yard.
Crews from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue were called to deal with the blaze.
Community coordinator Alex Trombetta said: “Four people, believed to be three males and one female, were seen in the area at the time of the fire. They are described as aged approximately 18 years old and were all wearing hooded tops.
“Officers have carried out house to house enquiries in the area and would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anybody acting suspiciously near to the Oasis Academy between the hours of 1am and 2am.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
