WILTSHIRE-based independent opticians Haine & Smith have welcomed a new partner on board.

Anna Lewin BSc (Hons) becomes the ninth current member of the Haine & Smith Limited Liability Partnership which also includes four optometrists and three dispensing opticians.

Anna graduated from Manchester University in 2000 and after working in Bath joined Haine & Smith in 2002. Anna set up Haine & Smith's Vision Training and Colorimetry Clinic, initially in their Chippenham practice and later on in Regent Street in Swindon. This makes use of coloured overlays or lenses, which can help some people with reading. In the past Anna has worked as a Specialist Optometrist in the glaucoma clinic at Bath RUH and is also past Secretary of Wiltshire Local Optical Committee.

Anna lives in Bristol and is married with two young children, who keep her very busy. When time allows she enjoys cycling, yoga and running. She is training for the London Marathon later this month, raising money for MACS - a small charity who support children born without eyes or with under developed eyes.

Senior partner Barry Smith says: “We are so fortunate that Anna has agreed to become a partner and will be a great asset to the partnership.”
