COURT: Antony Fernandes has been disqualified from driving for 16 months after pleading guilty to failing to provide a breath specimen.

The 32-year-old, of Beatrice Street in Swindon, was asked to take the breath test on March 28 during a police investigation.

Fernandes was also fined £267 and told he must pay £85 in costs plus £30 to victim services.

COURT: Persistent shoplifter Bradley Atkinson was sent to prison for six weeks after stealing washing tablets from Wilkos.

The 41-year-old made repeated trips to the store in April to take tablets and air fresheners, while he was on a suspended sentence, Swindon magistrates heard.

He pleaded guilty to three charges of theft and was ordered to pay £115 towards victim services.

COURT: A thief who was on bail for other offences stole cash and equipment from businesses in Swindon, the town’s magistrates heard.

Daniel Melhado, 33, of Tudor Walk, went into Optiplan Kitchens in Kelvin Road and took a projector, pen and cash valued at £355 on March 1. Then on April 19 he took cash from Specsavers and went into another building in Commercial Road with intent to steal.
