POLICE officers who are investigating a disorder in Trowbridge are trying to trace a key witness who saw the incident.

The disorder took place in Fore Street just before 2pm between a group of youths.

The force successfully got in contact with two sets of witnesses but they are still looking for an older lady, who was knocked slightly as the youths ran past her from where she stood outside Monsoon.

Local crime investigator Gary Fox said: “From looking at CCTV footage, we can see that this lady was struck by one of the offenders who was assaulting another person next to her. We are keen to speak to her to help with our enquiries and also ensure that she is not suffering from any injury.”

“We appreciate that some people may feel nervous or worried about contacting police but please be assured that your call will be dealt with sensitively.”

This incident took place on June 21.
