TWO crews from Trowbridge and Warminster tackled a blaze in a derelict building in Westbury Leigh this afternoon.

They were called out at 2.19pm after reports of smoke coming from a building that was believed to be derelict.

On arrival crews located a fire in the chimney of the property and further investigations confirmed it had spread to the roof void also.

The crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one covering jet, chimney gear, a triple extension ladder, a roof ladder and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire and make the area safe.
