THE Highworth branch of the Royal British Legion will launch the 2018 Poppy Appeal with a stall on the newly-refurbished podium on October 27.
The town's new Tommy sculpture will be unveiled on the same day at 11am.
The RBL branch has been inspired by the popularity of the Highworth Rocks campaign to create Poppy Rocks, which will be hidden around town from October 15 for people to find and bring to the sculpture.
A file comprising details of all the Highworth fallen has been compiled by the branch chairman for interested finders to read about the man remembered on the podium.
As St Michael's Church is being refurbished, the traditional Remembrance Day service will be held in the market square.
The parade, led by the union flag and RBL standard, will form up after the service around the War Memorial to march along the High Street, in what will be a celebration to commemorate the end of the war.
The parade will form up as usual in the Brewery Street car park at 9.30am for a 10am march off. Schools will make Remembrance artwork to be displayed in shop windows along the parade route and commemorative flags and bunting will be displayed along the High Street.
