RESIDENTS have moved into 14 new homes in Culverhay, Cricklade in the second stage of a regeneration project by GreenSquare.

Work began on the phase in January 2018 to demolish six bungalows and replace them with five bungalows and nine houses. The wider scheme involves demolishing 65 older properties, replacing them with 109 energy efficient homes, in a mix of shared ownership, affordable rent and sale.

Tom Chapman-Young, GreenSquare's regeneration officer, said: "It has been a pleasure working with residents of Skylark Rise and moving them into their new homes. So far, this regeneration project has been an ongoing success that has made a dramatic improvement to the area – we're really beginning to see the look of the whole neighbourhood changing."

E G Carer & Co Ltd is now beginning on phase three. The firm's housing manager Phillip Barnes, said: "The amount of support for this project within the local community is inspiring and we are excited about our role in re-shaping this part of Cricklade.”

Phase one was completed before Christmas 2017 when four houses were demolished and five bungalows and three houses were built in their place.
