Strictly Brexit
Strictly Come Dancing is bringing in many unknown faces. May I suggest the next series is called Politically Come Dancing.
All the dances being to Theresa May’s favourite group Abba. The first couple could be Theresa and Phil May dancing to Abba’s Slipping Through My Fingers.
The next pair could be Jeremy Corbyn and Diana Abbot dancing to Dream World. Frau Merkel and Jean-Claude Junker dancing to Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.
Nigel Farage and Andrea Leadsom dancing to I Still Have Faith In You. David and Samantha Cameron dancing to So Long, So Long. Nick and Miriam Clegg dancing to Another Town Another Train. Tony and Cherie Blair dancing to Money, Money Money.
In between dances a choir of Remoaners singing to On and On and On.Then a chorus of I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do.
The next interval would have a choir of Brexiteers singing Watch Out, Watch Out.Then a chorus of Don’t Shut Me Down. Finally as the show is made by the unbiased BBC. The judges chosen were Michel Barnier and Donald Tusk. Head Judge Gina Miller accompanied by Anna Soubry.
Bill Williams, Merlin Way, Covingham
Blessed generation
My generation should count themselves as blessed. We had some, if not the best opera singers ever.
So it is sad to hear of the death of Montserrat Caballe.
She and her contemporaries left many of us in awe at their accomplishments.
I refer of course to those who were were equals, Callas, Olivero, Tebaldi, not forgetting the Three Tenors.
I loved all of them. Which many of my old associates found strange. After all I started out as a worker from the shop floor. Nonetheless. these singers captivated me.
And let’s not forget just how great Montserrat was when she collaborated with Freddie Mercury to produce the album Barcelona. Music for all occasions. Like I said, we were lucky.

Road worries
After reading in the SA about the poor air quality in Kingshill Road, the Council may decide to put a bus gate in there - that’s a great idea.
With the bus gate that will be enforced soon going into Wichelstow from Wootton Basset Road at peak times, can the council please tell us where is the traffic going to go? How will residents get to and from their homes?
Marlborough Road from South Swindon to Old Town is gridlocked in the morning. I can see the whole of Swindon becoming one giant car park. The answer is either open all so called “rat runs” and let drivers choose their own way or leave things alone, you have cocked up the roads in Swindon enough
