ROBBERS tried to steal a man’s mobile phone while he listened to music.

The victim, who is in his 40s, was walking along Frobisher Drive at 4pm on October 16 when he realised he was being followed by a group of four or five people. One knocked his phone out of his hand from behind, causing it to fall to the ground. The group then attempted to steal it, but he grabbed it quickly. When he began to call police, the teens surrounded him and pushed him several times before running off. He was not injured.

PC Kayne Borresen said: “The group are believed to have been aged between 16 and 18. They are all white, and of medium build with short hair.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who was walking or driving in the area around this time – it was around 4pm so it would have been daylight. Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
