A GROUP of people tried to rob a man in his 40s as he walked along Frobisher Drive.

The attempted robbery happened around 4pm on Tuesday October 16.

The victim walked alongside the road while listening to music on his mobile phone.

He noticed that he was being followed by a group of four or five people.

One member of the group suddenly knocked the man’s mobile out of his hand and it fell to the ground.

The group tried to steal the phone but the man quickly grabbed it back off the ground and thwarted their efforts.

As he called the police, the group surrounded him and pushed him several times before running away.

Luckily, the man escaped uninjured and without anything being stolen.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.

PC Kayne Borresen said: “The group are believed to have been aged between 16 and 18. They are all white, and of medium build with short hair.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who was walking or driving in the area around this time – it was around 4pm so it would have been daylight.
