Vehicle service centre is to take on new staff

Broad Lane Land Rovers has moved to Unit 16 on the Woodland Industrial Estate in Eden Vale Road.

The company was founded in 2015 by former IT technician Mark Pugh, 31, and his wife Fiona, 30, a former dental nurse and training executive.

Broad Lane Land Rovers repairs, services and restores all models of Land Rovers and Range Rovers. The company also offers a rust proofing service under its South West Rust Proofing brand.

For Mr Pugh it was an opportunity to turn a long-time hobby into a business which is now taking on new staff.

He said: “I have always loved working on Land Rovers, they provide daily challenges to ensure no two days are the same.

“To be able to combine business with a hobby was always a dream.

“Now that we have moved we can finally begin to expand and see more success. We have grown it from one man, one ramp entity to a five ramp, four-man team.”

“The aim is to continue to grow the team by offering apprenticeships as this is the best way to ensure that the passion continues for many years to come.”

Mrs Pugh had a career as a dental nurse, only moving into the Automotive industry five years ago when she became a training executive for a large national bodyshop business based on the south coast.

The couple decided that to create more business opportunities that she would join Mark and together they would grow and develop the company.

Mrs Pugh is a former pupil at Matravers School which is now only a stones’ throw away from the new premises.

“Being so close to the school that I attended really makes me feel like I have achieved something and now that we have moved to Westbury it means that we can start contributing to the local community.

“I have plans to open our doors to work experience students as well as offering various sponsorship programmes.

“My background is in training and development so to be able to take on more apprentices allows me to combine my expertise and passion for the business.”
