THIEVES made off with hundreds of pounds in cash in a raid on an Old Town home last night.
Armed police were called to the house on the junction of Bath Road and Eastcott Road at around 9pm on Thursday evening.
Officers remain at the scene this morning.
Wiltshire Police said at least three armed units from specialists Tri-Force attended the alleged burglary after a man was seen near the house acting suspiciously and carrying what was described as a weapon.
“Our enquiries are ongoing at this stage,” a force spokesman said.
