TWO small housing developments proposed by the borough council's own Housing Company also passed at the Planning Committee.
Fourteen bungalows - to be constructed to 'assisted living' standards - can be built on a combination of green land, and the old Pilgrim Way children's play area in Shaw.
Objections had been raised by Shaw Parish Council that the development would remove parking spaces from the village and that would add to traffic and parking congestion.
The proposal to build six detached houses on the site of the former community centre in Sparcells Drive was also passed.
Residents and the parish council had objected when the original plans had been put forward because the houses will be built on the children's play area next to the disused community centre.
When the Housing Company revised its proposal to include building a new play area for very young children to the north of the site of the houses, most objections were dropped.
