PROSPECT Hospice is urging those looking for a rewarding volunteering experience to come along to an open day at its Warehouse in Wroughton tomorrow.

The palliative care charity collects and sorts millions of pounds of clothes and items from its 17 shops around Swindon every year - thanks to volunteers working in the distribution warehouse in Wroughton.

"For many of our volunteers, giving their time brings an opportunity to make new friends, become part of a team and use their skills again,” said Graham Biggs, the charity's volunteer recruitment officer.

"For younger volunteers, there’s a chance to develop new skills too and gain experience that can support their future career.

“The involvement of people from across all parts of the community is as essential to our ability to deliver our care as it ever has been. Shops bring in a vital injection of funds every year.

"The more money we can raise, the more care our nurses and support teams can give to local people at the end of their lives.”

The open day is on Moordmead Road on Saturday 17 November, between 9.30 and 11.30am.
